At MacroArt, introducing truly end-to-end sustainability solutions for our clients is our passion.
We, like they, are constantly looking for ways to reduce the carbon footprint, exploring a wide range of sustainable solutions from eco materials and production efficiencies to eco inks and recycling modular systems for re-rental. In short, there are no avenues that we will not investigate as part of our drive towards a fully sustainable operation.
Progress from the top down
Increasingly, the larger, single-client events in which we have been involved (and especially those where we have been the exclusive, end-to-end solution provider), involve the full use of our audited and accredited waste management streams.
Our Waste Management Licence (issued by the Environment Agency), when combined with the services of our Waste Management Partner, Prismm, has enabled us to deliver a strong sustainability result across every element of the process. Art working and production, installation, de-rigging, collection, and reusing/recycling have all been forensically investigated with the aim of removing or reducing waste. And we – and our clients – are achieving successes daily in terms of hitting our waste reduction targets.
Enabling greater access across our industry
As a business that operates across a broad field in our industry, from iconic national and international brand activations to much smaller (but no less important) exhibition stand delivery, we recognise the particular and unique challenges that multi-participation events present.
So often, the complexity of such events leaves individual exhibitors with little, if any understanding of who is responsible for the effective recycling or repurposing of their stand collateral once the event is over.
In recognition of this, and with the aim of providing an effective, practical, and sustainable solution, we are developing a new initiative in support of clients producing stands and activations at large scale exhibitions.
A sustainable step forward
Beginning with a pilot project at the ICE event at Excel in February 2023, We will offer a truly comprehensive, sustainable, turnkey production solution for all clients commissioning stand graphics from us for the event. This includes the collection and recycling of all graphics for each MacroArt client at the end of the show, with zero waste to landfill, maximum efficiency, value, and sustainability. Waste materials that we can recycle are:
Flexible PVC – Full Recycled
100% Polyester – Fully recycled
Foam pvc board rigid – fully recycled
ACM – Fully Recycled
Paper based product (card and paper) – Fully Recycled
Self adhesive vinyl – Fully Recycled
Correx – Fully Recycled
Other – Waste to energy
It is our hope that this will not only enhance our sustainability commitment in the short term, but also provide us with practical lessons in the development of a wider service provision in conjunction with venues and major event organisers. Ultimately, we hope to overcome the barriers and challenges of delivering sustainable results more easily and effectively, at these highly complex events.
2023 will continue our focus on offering real solutions and this initiative is just one step in MacroArt’s drive to instil true, measurable, and transparent sustainability at the core of our commitment, across all sectors of our business.
