Driving Sustainability Forward

Adding to our array of environmentally friendly materials and services, we have launched a closed loop scheme for UK customers choosing Aluminium Composite Panels (ACP).

We have been an early adopter of Multipanel UK’s Closed Loop recycling scheme for the Alupanel ACP materials, which are manufactured in the UK and offer a wide range of applications for eye-catching signage, innovative displays and exhibition stands. The newly launched take-back service collects clients’ panels for recycling at their end of life. These are returned to our UK headquarters in St. Neots to join any waste collected during the production process.

Innovating Green Solutions

Once collated, all waste is trimmed using a guillotine cutter and separated into aluminium and Low-Density Polyethylene streams. The aluminium is baled, crushed, and shipped to a UK aluminium smelter, contributing to the UK’s supply chain. Meanwhile, the LDPE core is ground into small pellets, which are returned to Multipanel UK and formed into a new core.

The entire process currently achieves an 80 percent closed-loop recycling rate and in a bid to achieve a 100 percent, we are actively exploring partnerships with further aluminium companies.

Advancing UK Sustainability Efforts

Alongside the benefits of closed loop recycling, Multipanel UK’s ACP offers a low carbon footprint thanks to their UK production, which minimises delivery miles, all of which align with our broader sustainability objectives.

Mark Rose Operations Director at Moss commented: “We are excited to be part of this recycling initiative, offering products with robust green credentials. Multipanel UK’s ACP sits alongside the rest of our diverse range of eco-friendly materials, giving our customers more choice than ever when it comes to selecting sustainable products and services.”

Gary Weeks from Multipanel UK added: “Working with Moss has been a pleasure, and we are thrilled to support the company’s journey towards achieving a 100 percent recycling rate. Our focus on a closed loop recycling process is one example of how we are responding to demands for greener graphics throughout the print industry, and we’re delighted to be part of the solution.”

In addition to the Multipanel UK ACP project, Moss recently launched the SustainaTex Ocean fabric, a 100 percent post-consumer waste recycled content fabric exclusively available through the company, into the UK graphics market.

“Sustainability is fundamental to all Moss’s global operations and these initiatives highlight the Group’s dedication to offering sustainable and innovative solutions for our extensive client base,” said Mark Rose.
