As we approach the end of 2023, the first thing that comes to mind is ‘Wow, what a year!’

2023 has undoubtedly been a year of growth and transformation for MacroArt. We have delivered some stunning projects, continued our lead on sustainability, won a handful of awards, and most recently – and excitingly – became part of Moss Inc.

Key achievements in 2023

The year started out revisiting our relationship with the world’s most famous store, by dressing the façade of Harrods with an impressive building wrap. We also decorated the ground level hoarding with frequent luxury brand activations which complemented the stores striking window displays.

Other projects we worked on included upgrading the visual identity of Brighton Hove Albion Football Club, continuing work at Blenheim Palace, becoming a recommended supplier at Tobacco Dock and wrapping a large ship for the Kansas City Chiefs hospitality activations for the NFL games in Germany.

The business has continued with its award-winning apprenticeship programme and has recently launched a collaboration with Inspire 2 Ignite which champions the development of young talent in the Cambridgeshire area and beyond.

Our charity work continues with the Upside Down Sports Club, as we embark on Snowdon 2024 in March!

Leading sustainability

2023 saw us report on our continued improvements with an independent review confirming significant reductions in carbon emissions. We remain on track towards the fundamental goal of reducing our carbon footprint by 50 per cent by 2030, following science-based initiatives.

These initiatives cover environmentally friendly and responsible material sourcing, greener production and installation methods, highly focused waste streams for improved recycling, and fully audited waste management with zero to landfill, to name a few.

We’re also proud partners with industry bodies such as ESSA and isla. These collaborations allow us to foster best practices in our industry, and have led to top-level accreditations and certifications, reinforcing our dedication to leading sustainable excellence.

Investing in our future

Alongside investing in new hardware, a critical part of our investment has been the introduction of innovative operational software that streamlines and optimises all areas of print production to maximise efficiency and minimise waste within the business.

Most recently we invested in the award-winning Nyala flatbed printer from swissQprint. The addition of the Nyala allows us not only to continue producing high-quality graphics but to deliver them at a rate which we have never seen before in the business. A significant benefit this kit offers is reduced power consumption, at around 50 per cent of the machine that it replaced.

Even with just a few months of operation we are excited to see how it is already helping take MacroArt to the next level in terms of quality and innovation.

Joining forces with Moss Inc

The most significant and exciting development of 2023 was our acquisition by Moss, a leading brand experience company headquartered in the US, with operations in Germany and Poland, and over 40 years of history and expertise in the industry.

Moss is a global leader in creating immersive and impactful brand experiences, using cutting-edge technology and design. Its diverse and impressive portfolio of clients and projects ranges from sports and entertainment to retail and hospitality, to healthcare and education.

We are delighted to be part of the Moss team, and to share our vision, values, and passion for excellence. By joining forces, we will be able to leverage our joint resources, network, and innovation, and ultimately offer our clients more value, quality, and creativity. We will also be able to access new markets and opportunities, and to expand our reach and influence globally.

Looking forward to 2024

As we look ahead to 2024, we are filled with both optimism and enthusiasm. We have a lot of exciting plans and projects in the pipeline and are confident that this will be another year of growth and transformation for our business, as we continue to deliver on our mission of creating amazing brand experiences for our clients and their audiences.

As a final thought, we would like to thank all of our clients, partners, suppliers, and staff for their support and collaboration in 2023, and for being part of our journey. We wish you all a happy and prosperous new year, and we look forward to the exciting developments 2024 will no doubt deliver.
