Achieving the impossible? With ‘The Art of MacroArt’, it’s a Cinch

The festival season is here and we can’t believe it’s been almost a year since we last worked with Cinch on their festival activation project!

Our MacroArt Team collaborated with experiential experts Creation Live, in partnership with festival structures firm The Halo Group, to design and produce a multi-level activation space from scratch in just over a fortnight. Commissioned by Creation Live for their client, Cinch, and seen by VIPs at Creamfields, TRNSMT and Isle of Wight Festivals, this event has highlighted the ability to deliver sustainable, multi-site signage and graphics.

As sponsors of all three events the previous summer, Cinch wanted to welcome guests to its activation areas in comfort and style. With events and brands looking to be more environmentally responsible, achieving a greatly reduced carbon footprint was key to its brief. Hence, having used 1500m2 of PVC-free materials throughout, we recovered all materials post-event for recycling within the relevant waste streams, estimating a carbon savings of 69% over conventional materials.

Matt Phipps, our Project Lead commented; “Projects of this scale are always a challenge, but we were fortunate enough to be working with the excellent teams at Creation live and The Halo Group, and their professional expertise fitted well with our own team’s ability to adapt to on-site changes, and we were proud to have delivered such a bespoke, sustainable and eye-catching result.”

Graphics had to be installed at the three festivals over consecutive weekends, requiring MacroArt to work to tight 5-day installation schedules at venues across the UK. Each of the sites, whilst broadly similar, had individual bespoke requirements. Consequently, this meant that our team had to regard them as stand-alone projects, dealing with specific and fluid challenges, whilst adding value and strong sustainability credentials to them all. Our team devised, constructed, and installed a tailor-made tensioning system for each site, allowing for the application of all graphics onto the existing structures.
