Event Branding
Large Format Printing
Ahead of the British Grand Prix, Sign Up Systems, now part of Moss, partnered directly with Silverstone Circuits Ltd (SCL) to deliver the large-scale branding for the new LandoStand, a dedicated grandstand celebrating McLaren driver Lando Norris and his passionate fanbase.
Designed to increase spectator capacity whilst creating an unforgettable fan experience, the project transformed the rear elevation of the UK’s largest temporary grandstand into a striking branded landmark! Working closely with Lando Norris’ creative team, Sign Up Systems developed the templates and technical framework required to ensure every graphic aligned perfectly with the bespoke structure, bringing the creative vision to life at an impressive scale.
Setting the pace
Large-scale temporary structures present unique branding challenges. Not only did the graphics need to deliver maximum visual impact, but they also had to conceal the extensive scaffold framework behind the grandstand while acting as an anti-climb barrier to protect the installation throughout the event.
Adding to the complexity, the entire project from technical design and manufacturing through to installation had to be completed within an ambitious eight-week programme. This included engineering new framing systems, manufacturing bespoke components, producing thousands of square metres of graphics and coordinating installation alongside numerous contractors, all while working around road closures and unpredictable summer weather.
ENGINEERING A NEW SOLUTION
Rather than relying on existing systems, Sign Up Systems designed and developed an entirely new aluminium extrusion profile specifically for this project.
The bespoke extrusion significantly improved installation speed while ensuring precise alignment across the full length of the structure. Alongside this, the team engineered a new aluminium framing system for the hoarding panels and manufactured bespoke scaffold brackets to create a secure fixing solution.
Every section of the project was carefully modelled before production, with detailed templates supplied to Lando Norris’ creative team to ensure the artwork fitted the structure perfectly once installed.
To achieve the vibrant signature colours associated with the Lando Norris brand, extensive colour sampling was carried out to accurately reproduce the distinctive fluorescent yellow across the printed mesh graphics.
DELIVERING AT SPEED…AND SCALE
The finished installation stretched an impressive 354 metres across the rear of the grandstand, reaching 15 metres in height to the back row of the UK’s largest temporary 16,373-seat grandstand.
Project highlights included:
- 6,000m² of printed Ultra Mesh Supreme 4 (MS74) graphics
- 1,000m² of ACM hoarding panels finished with anti-graffiti laminate
- 7,000 linear metres of bespoke Tetr4 aluminium extrusion
- Purpose-designed aluminium framing system developed specifically for the project
- Bespoke scaffold brackets manufactured to suit the temporary structure
Each mesh graphic was finished with welded keder along the top edge, allowing rapid installation while maintaining consistent tension and a clean, seamless appearance across the entire façade.
INSTALLATION UNDER PRESSURE
Delivering a project of this scale required meticulous planning and close collaboration with multiple contractors working simultaneously across the Silverstone site.
The installation programme faced several challenges, including restricted site access, limited contractor availability and rapidly changing weather conditions ranging from extreme heat to heavy rain and high winds. Despite these factors, and using a newly developed installation system, the project was completed on schedule, ensuring the grandstand was fully branded and race-ready.

The result: a podium finish
The completed LandoStand became one of the standout visual features of the British Grand Prix, creating an instantly recognisable destination for Lando Norris supporters while enhancing the atmosphere around one of Formula 1’s biggest events.
Beyond delivering a striking visual statement, the project demonstrated Sign Up Systems’ ability to combine engineering innovation with large-format branding expertise. By developing bespoke framing technology specifically for the installation, the team not only met an exceptionally demanding programme but also created a solution that will continue to benefit future large-scale event projects.
Now part of Moss Inc, Sign Up Systems will continue to bring specialist structural branding expertise, innovative engineering and proven delivery capabilities to some of the UK’s most ambitious live events and sporting venues.
It was a privilege to work on this project. It pushed Tetr4 to its limits, fully demonstrating its capabilities, and enabled the development of a new extrusion designed to work in tandem with it.
