We partnered with acclaimed photographer and digital media producer Karolina Heller to commemorate the 600th anniversary of London’s first purpose-built Livery Hall, home to The Grocers’ Company. This historic project required meticulous craftsmanship to mark the centuries of rich British heritage, blending artistry with modern innovation to showcase The Grocers’ Company’s remarkable history.

The Livery Hall’s Rich History

Tracing its origins to the Guild of Pepperers in 1180, the Livery Hall is now integral to London’s ceremonial life, hosting several conferences and events such as the Lord Mayor’s election. To celebrate its cultural significance, we were tasked with showcasing Heller’s artistic vision, with wrapped panels, acrylic displays and surrounding embellishments.

Our planning process began with an extensive site survey, testing materials to ensure that every element enhanced the hall’s grandeur and best represented Karolina’s artwork and typography. Drawing on our expertise and attention to every detail, we introduced gold chains, secured with wooden dowels, to seamlessly blend the graphics with the aesthetic of the room.

Crafting the Centrepiece

We used our Nyala 4 to produce the striking centrepiece acrylic panel worthy of the Livery Hall’s elegance. With its sleek gloss finish, the panel’s installation was a highly delicate process, with careful handling guaranteeing a flawless presentation with absolutely no surface scratches.

“Our goal was to enhance the room, not merely blend in,” stated Account Manager Darren Connell, who has collaborated with Heller on numerous London projects over the past 14 years. “The job demanded innovative solutions, from integrating small features such as the gold chains for hanging the graphics through to the grand centrepiece, ultimately ensuring a display that honours the hall’s 600-years heritage.”

Commitment to Sustainability

In keeping with the company’s commitment to sustainability, the installation used a selection of recyclable acrylics and vinyls for minimal environmental impact. This approach reflects our dedication to celebrating the past while considering the future, offering sustainable solutions without compromising quality.

“From selecting the ideal materials to ensuring a perfect installation, the attention Moss gave this project was second to none,” said Heller. “It was a real joy to partner with such an experienced and considerate team to deliver the impact The Grocers’ Company 600-year celebration demanded.”

“It was a huge honour to be trusted to represent Karolina’s artistic vision,” concluded Darren. “Every detail of our work reflects our pride in celebrating The Grocers’ Company’s legacy, making us not only place makers but caretakers of history.”
