Synergy – defined as ‘the combined power of a group of things when they are working together that is greater than the total power achieved by each working separately.’
It’s probably the most powerful word in my life.
I realise that, for so many people, self-reliance is vital too, and I have never been afraid to forge my own path, in both home life and business. But when you feel the power of synergy, you realise that almost anything is possible.
Throughout my youth, I suffered with a life changing illness that could have made my future very different to that of today, but I was fortunate to have around me a group of supportive family, friends and medical experts, who worked both together and with me, to find a way -against the odds – to heal me.
This gave me an early understanding of the power of synergy, and an abiding passion for positivity and squeezing the very last drop out of every day.
I’ve applied this belief in synergy to all aspects of my life, surrounding myself with a wonderful wife, family and friends, all of us working to make the most of every opportunity and every day. The combination of positivity and synergy in my home life is such a powerful thing!
And so it is with work; when a team works together, sharing knowledge and goals, offering support and guidance, finding positivity in every situation, accepting faults without judgment, the whole becomes so much more than the sum of its parts.
And, when I had the opportunity to join the team at MacroArt, I knew from the first day at my desk, that synergy was at work here, too. As if the amazingly beautiful office location and the fabulous office summer barbecue wasn’t enough, it was clear that MacroArt is staffed by likeminded people working as a team from top to bottom, with a mutual dislike of negativity, and an abiding passion for problem-solving, delivering high quality products and industry leading customer service for every client. These values are in our collective blood, and I became almost instantly proud of the company and its people.
At MacroArt, the team embraces individuality (even my mild obsession with crisps – especially crisp sandwiches – and my love of playlists with Rocky and Top Gun Soundtracks, ACDC, The Script, Imagine Dragons, Ed Sheeran and Disturbed throughout the day!), and uses this inclusivity to help develop teams that deliver world-class solutions for our clients, day in, day out.
My new ‘work family’ has made me feel welcomed, valued and enthused for the future, and I am committed to building this business in the best way I possibly can.
